NOTES AND QUOTES:
"We are bringing the same Goodyear Eagle recommendation that we introduced
at Talladega Superspeedway in the spring 1997 Winston Cup race," said Tony
Freund, Goodyears lead engineer for stock cars. "The characteristics of
this track generate close racing with many lead changes, as tires
typically go more than one fuel stop due to minimal wear and virtually no
give-up."
"Tire wear is phenomenal at Talladega - the best track for wear on the entire Winston Cup circuit. Often, the winner comes down to which team can gauge their fuel mileage most accurately at the end of the race, stopping only for the needed amount of gas and leaving the pits faster than those who take time for a full fuel stop," explained Phil Holmer, Goodyears marketing manager for stock cars.

Every NASCAR Winston Cup Champion has been riding on Goodyear Eagles
