NACAR WCUP: Realtree Backs Second Car at Michigan

13 August 1998

Realtree Outdoor Products, Inc., the country's No. 1 camouflage pattern, will sponsor Buckshot Jones in the No. 00 Realtree Chevrolet fielded by Stavola Brothers Racing in the Pepsi 400 presented by DeVilbiss at Michigan Speedway on August 16, 1998.

This is the second race in which Jones doubles with veteran Dave Marcis, driver of the No. 71 Realtree Chevrolet, to make a two car Team Realtree appearance. In his debut with Realtree at the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on August 1, Jones qualified 15th and finished 27th.

Crew chief Jim Long said, "We had a good set up in Indy. I was happy with qualifying, especially with Buckshot having to jump back and forth to IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park) for the Busch race.

"In looking on to Michigan, we had the fastest car there in June with Morgan Shepherd. Then, we developed an electrical problem during the race, and fell out early. I'm anticipating good things with Buckshot. He likes Michigan, so I'm cautiously optimistic."

Jones, a regular on NASCAR's Busch Series, will also compete in Saturday's Pepsi 200 presented by DeVilbiss in the No. 00 Chevrolet. Jones is currently fifth in Busch Series point standings.
