NOTES AND QUOTES:
"This is the same Eagle race recommendation that performed extremely well at Michigan Speedway earlier this season," said Tony Freund, Goodyear's lead engineer for stock cars. The setup also ran at California Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway earlier this season. In addition, it is very similar to the Dover Downs International Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway race recommendations.

Michigan Speedway typically provides for a close race where fuel mileage and pit strategy play a significant role in the outcome of the race. "In June, teams employed four tire, two tire and fuel-only strategies in their efforts to secure improved track position," added Freund.

DRIVER QUOTE:
Mark Martin, #6 Valvoline Ford, Roush Racing
"Michigan has always been one of my favorite tracks. I wish we could go there almost every week. We're coming off two wins in a row there and taking my favorite car. Michigan has always been a good track for me. The tires we run there will run forever, until you run out of gas. We'll be running the Winston Cup and Busch race that weekend, so we should do well."

ESTIMATED PIT STOPS FOR SUNDAY'S RACE:
APPROXIMATELY EVERY 50-55 LAPS. (ESTIMATE BASED ON FUEL CAPACITY)
