NOTES AND QUOTES:

Indianapolis Raceway Park was host to the first-ever NASCAR event in
Indianapolis in 1982 and has been a part of the NASCAR Busch Grand
National Series every year in series history.

"We are running much the same set-up at Indianapolis Raceway Park for
this year's NASCAR Busch Grand National event as we did in 1997," said
Mark Keto, Goodyear's NASCAR BGN engineer. "We are using the same
compound that both BGN and the Trucks ran last year.

"We have made a slight change to the left side construction to help
the cars turn in the corners," Keto explained. "The tires are the
same as those used at South Boston, Richmond, St. Louis, Pikes Peak
and Myrtle Beach. We tested the set-up with Randy Lajoie in the #74
Fina Chevrolet in June and were pleased with the performance. There
was very little tire give-up.

"Like many of the tracks on the BGN circuit this season, IRP has been
resurfaced," Keto concluded. "We feel we have an excellent
combination for the new pavement and will have a clean, competitive
race."

DRIVER QUOTE:

"Last year Goodyear brought great tires to IRP allowing us to backup
our South Boston win with a victory at IRP," stated Randy Lajoie,
defending BGN champion. "After testing in June on the new surface, I
know we have a great tire set-up for this year's race as well. We are
looking to get back-to-back victories this year as well. Goodyear
does a great job in the Busch series."

ESTIMATED PIT STOPS
FOR FRIDAY'S RACE: Stop approximately every 90-100 miles
(estimate is based on fuel consumption).
