NASCAR BGN: Mark Green/Timber Wolf Notes

4 July 1998

West Allis, Wisc. - Timber Wolf Chevrolet driver Mark Green set the NASCAR Busch Series qualifying record at the Milwaukee Mile last year turning a lap of 119.091 mph. It also marked the fastest lap ever run by a stock car on the one mile oval, breaking Rusty Wallace's 1984 ASA record.

Green will not be using the same No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet Monte Carlo he drove in last year's Diehard 250. That car, named Ricky , was retired following a savage wreck at Nashville Speedway USA in March. He will instead pilot the car named Elvis.

Following the Diehard 250 at the Milwaukee Mile, Mark Green and the Timber Wolf/Brewco Motorsports team will head to Indianapolis Raceway Park for a one day test session on July 6.

Mark Green will sign autographs on July 10 at Food Chief convenience store located at 1029 10th Avenue in Myrtle Beach, SC from 4:00-6:00 pm. The No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet Monte Carlo show car will also be on hand.

Open Pantry, a local chain of convenience stores with two locations in West Allis, Wisconsin, is an associate sponsor on the No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the Diehard 250 at the Milwaukee Mile.
