Flexcar Presents Real ``Car of the Future'' -- Honda Civic Hybrids -- at Blairs Apartments

The ``Car of the Future'' is at Blair House in Silver Spring beginning this Saturday.

Flexcar, the nation's leading car-sharing company, makes two brand new 2003 Hybrid Honda Civics available to members at Blairs Apartments in Silver Spring. The NY Times recently called the Civic Hybrids ``one of the most fuel-efficient and technologically advanced sedans in America.'' (``On the Town in 3 Green Machines,'' April 14, 2002, NY Times)

To launch the new service and introduce the hybrid cars, local children were asked to draw the ``car of the future.'' Dozens of colorful entries, the ``artists'' and their families and people joining Flexcar will enjoy refreshments and test-drives Saturday from 11-2.

An environmental group (``Turn the Tide,'' Washington Post, 4/18/02) says the most significant contribution DC residents can make to cleaning the environment is to skip one car-trip per week. Flexcar helps members combine trips while freeing them from costs and hassles of car ownership. When Flexcar members use Hybrid Honda Civics, they do even more to reduce emissions and traffic.
